About 54% of the female US population is 45 years old or better. I’m a lifelong reader of women’s fiction and romance. At 72, I want to read stories about women in my age group – 60s and older. From the responses I’ve gotten from my clients (I help women about to retire figure out their next step) about this book, this resonates with them as well. And I want to read stories about other professional women – professors, advertising executives, female entrepreneurs – like the women I’ve met through my academic, corporate, and government work.

Later-in-life women’s fiction romance seems to be a growing market. Some of my clients are part of the gray divorce phenomena. Divorce in the over 50 years of age population has grown exponentially in the past few years. These women (and men) have to navigate a new future, let alone managing the dating apps swipe left or right. This is the main character Katherine’s story.
